Skoda has announced that the VW Group’s Virtual Cockpit is available as an option on the Octavia, Superb, Karoq and Kodiaq with prices from £450.
The Virtual Cokcpit digital instrument panel has been rolling across the VW Group for some time now, replacing traditional analogue instruments with a configurable digital screen. And very good it is too.
Even Skoda has been announcing models featuring Virtual Cockpit, but now it’s going the whole hog and adding it as an option across the Octavia, Superb, Karoq and Kodiaq ranges, although only on higher spec models.
Five instrument layout are possible with Skoda’s Virtual Cockpit, which can also be refined individually to give the driver exactly what’s wanted at any given time.
The Classic layout resemble a traditional set of instruments with a rev counter and speedo each side and an area in the middle where you place Nav maps and more, Extended gives you more room to play with added info, Modern gives you a big map with ancillary information, Basic cuts things down to a minimum and Sports makes it all look ‘Sporty’.
On the Octavia and Superb models you’ll need to buy the SE or above and pay £450 for Virtual Cockpit, with availability on the Karoq and Kodiak from SE L trim up, although it’ll cost you £100 more on SE L and Scout models, but the same £450 on SportLine, Edition and L&K.
