A woman has died and two people are seriously injured following a crash near Helensburgh.
The 45-year-old woman was driving a Vauxhall Meriva when it was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen Tiguan on the A818 at Daligan, east of Helensburgh , at around 9.10am yesterday (Monday)
Police said the driver of the Vauxhall Meriva died at the scene.
The 71-year-old man driving the Volkswagen Tiguan, and his passenger, a 70-year-old woman, were taken by ambulance to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where medical staff described their condition as serious but stable.
Police are now appealing for information about the crash.
Sergeant Paul MacPherson, Dumbarton Road Policing Unit, is appealing for witnesses to the crash.
He said: “Although a number of people stopped to assist at the time, I am still keen to hear from anyone who may have either witnessed the crash or indeed who saw the cars on the road prior to it happening.
